Namibia is located in the Southern part of Africa, bordering South Africa, Botswana, Angola and Zambia all are accessible over land apart from Zimbabwe. Namibia can be divided into four main topographical regions since it’s a predominantly arid area the Namib Desert and coastal plains in the west, the east ward sloping plateau, the Kalahari along the borders.Namibia was formerly a Germany colony. Namibia’s largest and capital city is Windhoek which is also a commercial nerve center for the country. This country is 825,000 sqkm with a population of 1.83 million who speak nine different languages like English, Afrikaans, German, Owambo, Kavango, Herero, Khoi khoi, San dialects.  Namibia also produces most of the highest quality diamonds. Religion: Christian 80% to 90% (Lutheran 50% at least), indigenous beliefs 10% to 20%.

Despite its harsh climate, Namibia has remarkable natural attractions and some of the world’s greatest national parks like the Namib desert, the Fish River Cayon Park, Etosha National park, Kalahari desert, Namib Naukluft Park, Ais Richveldt Transfrontier park, Skeleton Coast park it’s with in these parks you will find a wide range of wild seascapes, rugged mountains, lonely desserts, stunning wildlife, colonial cities, and nearly unlimited elbow room. Namibia is a photographers dream in addition to having a striking diversity of cultures and origins.

Climate and the best time to travel

The rain fall is sparse and erratic in Namibia, this is because it has a desert climate which makes it hot and dry. If there is any rain fall it falls between October- April and the hottest months are December to March.

May to October is the best time to travel because the weather is a little cooler.

How to get there

Hosea Kutako International airport is Namibia’s International airport which lies 28 miles east of the capital, Windhoek. Most of the visitors in Namibia arrive by air via Europe or South Africa. You can also get to Namibia by land with luxury buses traveling to Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa. Buses are also available from Botswana and Zambia.
